This seminar will explore history, research, and lived experiences on the topic of race and its influence on our daily interactions, as well as social and political institutions. Through an examination of the history of racism and colorism beginning 5,000 years ago, participants will discuss racial socialization, a process that provides meaning to racial identity in the broader societal context. They will also discuss tangible ways in which they can utilize the elasticity of their brain or “learning muscles” to develop a growth mindset and skills for building greater inclusion.
December 3rd, noon-1 p.m., by Binnu Palta Hill, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer for the Wisconsin School of Business.
